Thanksgiving came and went quickly this year but it brought some nice time with family and friends and a whole lot of food. I’m feeling like I might need to live off of green juice for awhile. Thankfully, I picked up some new workout gear from Old Navy on Black Friday so tonight would be the perfect time to break it in. After a whole lot of water, some coffee, and a solid yoga session, my detox/recovery is looking promising.
(jump to 1:14 for the actual song)
This is one of my favorite songs right now even though I’ve been mostly hitting up the Christmas playlists these days. It reminds me of home and the fact I’ll be there in a few weeks for Christmas. Until then, I’ll be decorating, and shopping for gifts pretty much all month long. Happy December everyone!
Although our weather here on the East Coast has been all over the place, temperatures are on their way down. Even on warmer days, my skin starts to feel dry. It’s the worst feeling, especially when it comes to my face. I think it was probably fate that brought Tarte’s Pure Maracuja Oil into my life because it has been an awesome addition to my make-up bag since it’s gotten colder.
Read the product description and try not to get super psyched on this oil, I dare you:
This undiluted organic and moisturizing maracuja oil quickly absorbs for firmer, brighter, smoother skin. Pure maracuja oil is rich in vitamin C, so skin appears instantly brighter and more radiant, as well as essential fatty acids (EFAs), a requirement for healthy skin cells that the body cannot produce on its own. EFA deficiency can result in the breakdown of essential skin cells which causes skin to appear dry and aged. By supplementing skin with pure maracuja oil, you are infusing life back into dull skin and replenishing EFAs to rapidly rebuild and repair. This potent anti-aging elixir that has anti-inflammatory benefits promotes active skin recovery and delivers maximum hydration without any greasy or filmy feel.
I got my maracuja oil thanks to a sample from Sephora and I only picked it because I vaguely remembered hearing it was good for dry skin. Once I had it home, I did my research and was not disappointed (using my Sephora points is a really big deal… there’s no room for wasting them).
Key words: brighter, more radiant, rebuild, repair, anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, maximum hydration
Not only does my skin feel soft and smooth after I use the oil, but I definitely do not feel greasy. I haven’t been using it long enough to tell if the whole anti-aging thing is true but I do feel like there are some anti-inflammatory benefits going on. Overall… I have no complaints. When my sample runs out, I will most likely be adding on some Sephora points and buying the real deal for $46. This would also make for an awesome gift for that beauty lover who has everything!
I’m heading to Penn State for the weekend for some quality family and football time. My brother and 3 of my cousins are currently at Penn State for undergrad so a family tailgate is in order.
I probably won’t have time for yoga today or tomorrow so I’m going to have to try to burn some standing/walking calories. Until Sunday, I’ll be checking my Instagram for yoga motivation. Following the pros on Instagram is super inspiring. I’m still working on perfecting my downward facing dog but eventually I’m aiming for this…
I’ve almost got the last one (crow pose) down. I’m just scared to fall on my face but, like, who isn’t? Faces are not for smashing.
My best Instagrammed photo ever, probably. To reel you in.
Welcome to the first post. I have a thousand ideas swimming around in my head but I’ve got to take the leap and just make the first post. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. < This was a poster on the wall in my sixth grade math class. Memories.
I don’t want to give you an elaborate explanation of who I am. I don’t know how to do that without sounding lame. I like to keep things simple so here’s what I like:
yoga, shopping, going for walks, nail polish, bright colors, most shiny things (except needles), seasons, holidays, Instagram, photography, home decor, vacations, making playlists, sort of being healthy, sort of spending my money wisely, buying work out clothes to make me work out, reading blogs, writing a blog (new- lol), city life (Philly represent), sunsets, sunrises (though I rarely experience them), Snapchat, Pinterest, smiling (smiling’s my favorite), making people laugh, being productive, being lazy, people with positive attitudes, small talk with total strangers, riding the bus, cute animals, and sometimes I like salad.
I don’t know how that sounds. Let’s revisit this post in a year and see if it all makes sense.
