The Noise in my head
Sometimes you wake up to it.
Not the peace of a sunrise or the smell of coffee.
The list of the morning routine, kids rousing and bumping around, the dog whining at the foot of the bed, the bills, the mess ... the .... and more...
How do we center ourselves for a day relishing around intention, kindness, and sweet gratitude?
I took a deep breath, feeling the air fill my lungs, and then again, taking in the weight and lightness of my presence. I took note of the gift of space, time, and the people in my life.
The overcast day or the strange smell from the bathroom won't have power over my presence—at least not today.
If it's especially busy and overwhelming as my eyes greet the world, I pause .... slowly ... and give myself a minute to revisit the visual images I have cataloged in the stored "best moments" mental file.
A captivating sunrise, a giggling toddler snuggled close, a breakfast scrambled with love, and a side of steaming coffee, my feet in the warm sand as I feel the sun on my closed eyes—I got this world!
Choose your image and start your day by giving yourself the love and grace you will radiate to others.
Today, I commit to breathing deeply and embracing beauty to give myself and others.
Peace and kindness, Mel
